Driver's Education

Mr. Woodhouse will do three courses a year. Fall, Spring and Summer. Courses during the Fall and Spring will be taught during school hours.

  • Fall: Starting the first day of School

  • Spring: Starting the first day of 3rd Quarter

  • Summer: Dates to be determined

How To Obtain A Learners Permit

Requirements to obtain a Utah Learner Permit (Learner Permits are issued by the Utah Driver License Division)

  1. Be 15-years-old (or older) to apply

  2. Pass medical screening (eye test and medical questions completed at the DLD)

  3. Pass State Written Test with 80% or better (complete at the DLD or at Altamont High*)

  4. Proper Forms

    • Original or certified copy of the student’s birth certificate

    • Student’s social security card

    • Two Proofs of residency (parent’s utility bill, School ID)

  5. One parent must accompany the student to the DLD or parent’s signature must be notarized

  6. Pay Learner Permit Fee ($15) You must hold Learner Permit for a mminimum of 6 months before getting regular Driver License.

Driver License Division Hours The Roosevelt DLD Office (30 West 425 South) will be open Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7 am to 6 pm. You must be there by 5 pm to complete paper work. If you need to take the driving test you should be there by 4:30 pm. Phone #: 722-3448

Certified Copy of Original Birth Certificate, for students born in Utah, can be obtained from the Tri-County Health Department at 147 East Main in Vernal. Cost is $18. Phone #: 781-5475

Utah State Written Test will be given (no charge) once a week after school in the counseling office. Handbooks and study guides are available in the counseling office.
